Dr. Michael Vincent Bivins

Dr. Vincent Michael Bivins received his Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology from the University of Alabama. He subsequently completed his medical education at the University of Alabama School of Medicine, his internship in General Surgery at Vanderbilt Medical Center and his residency in Urology at the University of Oklahoma. He then completed a clinical fellowship in Urology Oncology at the University of Washington, going on to join Urology Centers of Alabama in 2002.

Dr. Bivins’ particular clinical interest is Robotics. Among the procedures he performs are Robotic Prostatectomy, Cystectomy, both partial and radical Nephrectomies, Subtotal Prostatectomy, Female Pelvic Prolapse, and Urinary Reconstruction including Ileal Conduit and Neobladders. Furthermore, Dr. Bivins also cares for patients with Stone Disease, Erectile Dysfunction, Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia, and Incontinence.

He is a member of the American Urological Association, American Medical Association and the Medical Association of the State of Alabama. He received his board certification from the American Board of Urology in 2004. He was elected to the 2008 Class of Leadership Birmingham. He has authored several papers and been involved in multiple clinical trials.

Dr. Bivins is very active in the community and resides on the Boards of the Jefferson County American Cancer Society and the YMCA. He is also a member of the United States Air Force Reserve.

•Dr. Nicole DeSouza Massie

Biography:

Dr. Nicole DeSouza Massie

Nicole DeSouza Massie, M.D. completed her medical training at the University of Virginia, followed by an internship and residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in surgery and urology. While there, she served as Chief Urology Resident during her final year of residency.

Dr. Massie is a member of the American Neurological Association and of the Southeastern section of the American Urological Association. She is also an active member of the Jefferson County Medical Society and the Medical Association of the State of Alabama.

She served on the interviewing committee while at the University of Virginia School of Medicine and on the residency committee while at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Her clinical and practice interests include voiding dysfunction, female incontinence and pelvic prolapse. Her clinical and practice interests include voiding dysfunction, female incontinence and pelvic prolapse. Additionally she is robotically trained in pelvic floor reconstruction.

Dr. Massie is board certified.
